In a city racing toward the future, Riyadh is building more than roads and skyscrapers,

it's paving a lifestyle.

Introducing the Sports Boulevard: a 135-kilometer urban marvel stretching from Wadi Hanifah in the west to Wadi Al-Sulai in the east. This linear park is not just a public project—it's a national statement. As part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, it reflects the Kingdom’s bold shift toward wellness, environmental sustainability, and vibrant urban living.

But what makes this journey truly unique is not just its size—it’s how it brings together movement, culture, and identity in a way never seen before in the region.

Phase One: Riyadh Can Now Roam

In February 2025, the first phase of the project was completed, unlocking five incredible zones to the public and marking 40% progress.

1. Wadi Hanifah Pathway

A 13.4 km stretch where nature meets motion—offering shaded trails for walking, horse riding, and cycling.

2. The Promenade

A 4 km pedestrian destination inspired by Salmani architecture, featuring retail, play zones, cafes, and community gathering points.

3. The Arts Tower Intersection

This interactive sculpture fuses engineering and sunlight, transforming Riyadh’s skyline into a canvas.

4. Princess Nourah University Loop

A 20 km trail looping through the world’s largest women’s university—encouraging student wellness and active transportation.

5. Sands Sports Park

Located southeast of King Khalid International Airport, this desert-born zone includes BMX tracks, hiking trails, and the Najdi Flower Route—a 45 km cycling path surrounded by native desert blooms.

On the Horizon: The Global Sports Tower

Vertical Innovation in Athletics

Coming soon is the Global Sports Tower—a 130-meter vertical complex housing over 30 sports facilities. Once complete, it will be the tallest sports structure of its kind, redefining the possibilities of indoor athletic experiences.

The tower is expected to host global tournaments, specialized athlete training programs, and wellness services that align with Saudi Arabia's broader ambitions to become a sports tourism hub.

From National Project to Daily Lifestyle

The Sports Boulevard doesn’t just give people a place to move—it gives them a reason to move.

Whether you're jogging through interactive sculptures, joining a morning yoga session, exploring public art, or teaching your kids to ride a bike—this space becomes part of your story.

It’s a new chapter for Riyadh. And for everyone who walks, rides, runs, or roams—you’re part of the transformation.

Why the Sports Boulevard Journey Feels Different

A Cultural and Wellness Corridor

This isn’t just a place to walk or cycle. The Sports Boulevard is:

  • A living museum, filled with art installations that respond to light, movement, and meaning
  • A cultural corridor, shaped by Salmani architecture that ties every zone back to Riyadh’s heritage
  • A platform for active citizenship—inviting everyone from students to seniors to participate in Saudi’s transformation
  • An ever-changing space, with pop-up events, sports tournaments, and artistic exhibitions giving new life to the path every week
  • A model of inclusivity, designed to be used and enjoyed by everyone, no matter their age, gender, or physical ability

Beyond infrastructure, the project is a catalyst for behavioral change. It encourages people to walk instead of drive, to gather in public spaces instead of malls, and to engage in outdoor activities that support physical and mental well-being.

What Is the Sports Boulevard?
